With 2017 in the books, we look back at the great year that was and we look forward to the year that just might be better. Its in this spirit that I offer you the gift of 5 games I believe will shock you in 2018. These 5 games don’t have the hype behind them like other games, after asking around forums and talking to streamer’s most had no idea about most of these games. So I feel the obligation to share these gems with the world.
#5. Kingdom Come: Deliverance
What do you get when you add a massive open world, attention to historical detail, and a robust RPG system? You get kingdom come: deliverance. A game that drops you in the middle of a fight for freedom and the crown, serve the queen when Kingdom come: deliverance drops this spring.
#4. Detroit Become Human
When you first look at Detroit’s graphics you are blown away, with good reason. This game looks amazing, the reason it is on this list is because besides the story driven gameplay we know nothing and in a time when we know all, that maybe a turn off for some. As I learn more about this game I become more excited about this game’s future. Detroit become human drops 3rd quarter.
#3. Metro: Exodus
So one day I was looking for a game I never played before in GameStop and I ran Across Metro 2033 Redux,And oh my god this gem changed the way I view games. One of the best games I ever played….And only a few if anyone knew what I was talking about. So when I heard about Metro:Exodus I immediately start telling everyone about this glorious fps set in a post apocalyptic Russia. Telling anyone that would listen about one of the best stories I have ever experienced in gaming, so of course my expectations for Metro:Exodus are through the roof. Look for it when drops this fall.
#2. Overkill’s The Walking Dead
I know you read the title and said NO NOT ANOTHER ZOMBIE GAME!!! fear not this one is sure to stand alone. Since seeing the trailer, I couldn’t help but be intrigued about Overkill’s take on the walking dead. The payday creators could be the ones to bring zombie games back to the forefront when this one drops this fall.
#1. Hunt: Showdown
I am super excited for this game.Trust me later this year we all will be addicted to this spin on the battle royale genre. You or you and a buddy are bounty hunters tracking a monster, the catch is so are the other 9-8 hunters,Did I mention the permadeath? And a free to play system, If you add all these things together with a pretty extensive progression system this is one to keep your eyes on. Closed betas are still taking applications. If you don’t get in June is not that far away…–Leon
